This Is Antwerp invited 12 internationals to Discover Antwerp Through Experience, in short to go on a D.A.T.E. with Antwerp from the 3rd until the 8th of November. We’ll show them the best hidden secrets, jaunt the hottest places, survive workshops together, enjoy the finest meals and much more. But most important they will meet that one important thing that fuels Antwerp to be the dynamic city that it is today: creative people.
This is how D.A.T.E. rolls
We promised you to keep you updated about our D.A.T.E.. But this time we’ll keep it short because our locals will also cover almost every D.A.T.E. workshop. We will post all their blogs the day after. So keep an eye out for them.
We’ve had a blast so far! It’s always great to hear people being impressed by the beauty of your city. The guys from Cyclant did a mighty good job showing our guests some Antwerp hidden gems. Tomorrow you can read more about their jaunt on wheels by our This Is Antwerp local Igor.
After the long bike ride our company went to Café Le Royal for lunch. The smiles on their faces could make us conclude a couple of things:
- Or they were happy they could sit down and relax
- Or they were hungry and ready to enjoy a tasty lunch
- Or they had a cramp in their jaw and couldn’t help smiling.
After lunch our D.A.T.E.’s enjoyed a 3D-printing workshop at 3DEE print shop. Our local Swa joined them and will report on their 3-dimensional adventures tomorrow.
As we speak we’re having dinner in an old restored warehouse, the ‘Felixpakhuis’, located in the old port district, ‘’t Eilandje’.
Tomorrow’s program
Is there a better way to discover a city then by strolling down the streets on your own? Exactly, we totally agree. That’s why we didn’t make any plans for our guest this morning.
Tomorrow’s lunch will be an experience, not just for foodies. We’re having lunch at the concept restaurant Graanmarkt 13. Food orgasm heaven.
The afternoon promises to be a busy one. We’re splitting up our group to visit both wood/display artist at Urban Outfitters Nick Bal’s workshop and see graphic artist Jangojim work his magic.
We won’t have a lot of time to enjoy our soup by Soepmie for dinner because our guest from Freunde von Freunden is launching a book at Copyright Bookshop tomorrow night. Everybody’s welcome to join the fun!
More!
Don’t worry, you don’t have to miss a thing. We asked our This Is Antwerp locals to cover most of the workshops for you. So keep an eye out for our blog or follow us on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram!
