Bagelbar serves a variety of bagels for a great price in a neighbourhood that was in need of a calm and light space like this.
The Lange Leemstraat is not exactly an agreeable environment because of all the traffic that passes through. This is the reason that it is hard to find a nice place to lunch in the neighbourhood, but now Bagelbar has come to the rescue. As you could already guess, it mostly serves bagels, but you can also get an ordinary sandwich. Except for choosing between salty or sweet, you can pick regular bagels or with seeds. At last comes the hardest part: choosing your filling!
The two owners have selected wonderful products and also make a lot of it themselves, like the absolutely delicious hummus and pesto. Moreover the prices are well in proportion to the quality of the food; even the specialities cost below €5. They also sell breakfast menus about which my boyfriend still waxes lyrically. Finally Bagelbar serves home-baked brownies and cake for those who have a sweet tooth.
Bagelbar is set in a light decor that makes you forget the busy world outside. Tram 4 stops almost in front of the door and it is only a 5 min bike ride from the city centre.
